Other Suns Arts Co. was founded to address a need for a safe, welcoming space for writers for the future.

Despite an explosion of cultural and ethnic diversity in American literature, many genres still fail to represent queer, Black, indigenous, Latinx, and other marginalized stories. This continues the dearth of knowledge about our varied and complex lived experiences, limiting many of our collective narratives to tragedy shows on the news each season.

This company is a space where marginalized artists can dream of a future unlimited by our flawed social constructs and institutions.

Guided by Octavia Butler's boundless Science Fiction & Afrofuturism work, we write to create a future in which empathy facilitates honesty, adaptability, and right relationship.
